Two post i would like to highlight.

Well, i was just snooping around hoping to get my dosage of what Maundy Thursday and Good Friday could mean for me. I got this two articles from a catholic blog.

St. Patrick arrived at the hill of Slane

St. Patrick arrived at the hill of Slane, at the opposite extremity of the valley from Tara, on Easter Eve, in that year the feast of the Annunciation, and on the summit of that hill kindled the Paschal fire.

The druids at once raised their voice. "O King", (they said) "live for ever; Patrick's fire, which has been lighted in defiance of the royal edict, will blaze for ever in this land unless it be this very night extinguished."

And Patrick said:

I bind unto myself today: The strong virtue of the Invocation of the Trinity: I believe the Trinity in the Unity, The Creator of the Universe.
I bind to myself today
The virtue of the Incarnation of Christ with His Baptism,
The virtue of His crucifixion with His burial,
The virtue of His Resurrection with His Ascension,
The virtue of His coming on the Judgement Day.
I bind to myself today
The virtue of the love of seraphim,
In the obedience of angels,
In the hope of resurrection unto reward,
In prayers of Patriarchs,
In predictions of Prophets,
In preaching of Apostles,
In faith of Confessors,
In purity of holy Virgins,
In deeds of righteous men.

I bind to myself today
The power of Heaven,
The light of the sun,
The brightness of the moon,
The splendour of fire,
The flashing of lightning,
The swiftness of wind,
The depth of sea,
The stability of earth,
The compactness of rocks.
I bind to myself todayGod's Power to guide me,
God's Might to uphold me,
God's Wisdom to teach me,
God's Eye to watch over me,
God's Ear to hear me,
God's Word to give me speech,
God's Hand to guide me,
God's Way to lie before me,
God's Shield to shelter me,
God's Host to secure me,
Against the snares of demons,
Against the seductions of vices,
Against the lusts of nature,
Against everyone who meditates injury to me,
Whether far or near,
Whether few or with many.
I invoke today all these virtues
Against every hostile merciless power
Which may assail my body and my soul,
Against the incantations of false prophets,
Against the black laws of heathenism,
Against the false laws of heresy,
Against the deceits of idolatry,
Against the spells of women, and smiths, and druids,
Against every knowledge that binds the soul of man.
Christ, protect me today
Against every poison, against burning,
Against drowning, against death-wound,
That I may receive abundant reward.

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ within me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ at my right, Christ at my left, Christ in the fort, Christ in the chariot seat, Christ in the poop deck,Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks to me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.

I bind to myself today
The strong virtue of an invocation of the Trinity.
I believe the Trinity in the Unity
The Creator of the Universe.
Amen.

And

... it has become so glib in our depraved culture to consign murdered babies to their imagined repose in Heaven; somehow, then, abortion does not seem quite so terrible. But our presumptions can so easily become just that- complacent presumptions. We hope in God's mercy. But the souls of aborted infants are doused in Adam's sin, wherein no-one can look on the face of God. In our imaginations we must not resign these infants so easily to the presumptively immediate bliss of Heaven. Rather we should continually lift them up to God's grace in the wounds of the Crucified Savior.

"As regards children who have died without Baptism, the Church can only entrust them to the mercy of God, as she does in her funeral rites for them. Indeed, the great mercy of God who desires that all men should be saved, and Jesus’ tenderness toward children which caused him to say: "Let the children come to me, do not hinder them," allows us to hope that there is a way of salvation for children who have died without Baptism. All the more urgent is the Church’s call not to prevent little children coming to Christ through the gift of holy Baptism." -Catechism of the Catholic Church #1261.

I really feel that the first article is such a powerful prayer by St. Patrick. The prayer on its own recognises all of God's holy creations and identifies all the vices of this world. St. Patrick then later uses God's holy creation and of course the power of the Trinity to defend him from all the vices of this world. A beautiful prayer that would bless those who hear, see or speak of it.

The second would be abortion. I did not know that infants would still carry Adam's Original Sin. We can only pray for the mercy of such souls.
